Canada Lynx Tracking Trip in Ontario
January 19, 2025 - January 24, 2025
$800.00Canada Lynx Tracking Trip in Ontario – January 19-24th 2025
Where: Elk Lake, Ontario
Our Daily Practice:
Join us just north of Temagami on this educational and experiential trip into the north woods. We will focus our scouting and tracking on finding sign, tracks and trails of the Canada Lynx. With that said, we cannot guarantee what we will find, although many lynx have been spotted in the area we will be in the past. There will be ample time to track and learn about many of the other animals that call this area home including wolves, moose, deer, marten, fisher, otter, flying squirrels, spruce grouse, snowshoe hare and many more. We will spend our days on the land travelling by snowshoe. Wandering through the forests, swamps and bogs and across the frozen lakes of the Canadian Shield. If you have tracked with us before, you know that these trips are about much more than just animal tracks. We will spend time learning about the ecology and natural history of the area and learn to read the stories of the land from many different perspectives.
Evenings will be spent researching and learning about what we saw in the field each day using our extensive library of field guides and books. As well as sharing meals, laughter & building relationships while relaxing in the warm cabin.
Join us this winter as we practice the ancient skill of tracking and connecting to the land.

What some of our past tracking participants have to say:
“What an outstanding experience! The lynx is such an iconic animal. Being in a region where one can actually track them and learn about their behaviour – and their relationship to snowshoe hare – is humbling.
As if that weren’t enough, following the tracks and sign of a variety of species – including wolf, fisher, otter, fox, grouse, snowshoe hare, flying squirrel etc – was amazing. Thank you Alexis.”
Renato Bernardo – 2023 Lynx Tracking Trip Participant
“Alexis is exactly the kind of person I like having in the field with me – supportive, knowledgeable, and extremely competent. Finding the right place to go and track lynx is challenging, but he really nailed it this year! I thoroughly enjoyed my time tracking with Earth Tracks this week”
